My guests were at awe with the kind of dishes served by the famous Kolkata Caterer Bijoli Grill (Original) at my reception. It enhanced the mood of the party but some of the guests had consumed one prawn item in excess which lead to short of supplies for a few minutes. However, overall well managed a total of 1400 guests with a smile on each of the service guys.
Will surely book for my next family occasion.

On 16th Feb 2019, we appointed Bijoli Grill catering service for the celebration of our daughters birthday near Calcutta Greens. The food they served was comparable to the street foods. Highly disappointed with the catering people and food quality
Firstly, their service was super slow, guests were waiting for cocktails and starters.
Secondly, the catering boys were too lazy to move and the manager who was in charge was the most cunning person ever met, his only intent is to save food or steal in another word.
Thirdly, the catering boys were taking the whole day just to prepare the cocktails and serving the cake, the guests were literally irritated. We made a live pasta counter, but the person making pasta was so slow that half of the guest could get the chance to eat.
Coming to the food, it's comparable to the roadside food, the chicken korma is half boiled chicken literally floating on a tub of water, bhetki paturi was so hard, rubbery and cold, that no one could finish one. We were much ashamed of the food to our guest, all because of the wrong choice of taking food catering from Bijoli Grill, that too so expensive 800/-.

Whoever reading this, please never go for Bijoli Grill.

Widespread Food poisoning due to intake of food catered by Bijoli Grill at an Indian wedding in Kolkata


I’m extremely saddened to pen this down. We opted for Bijoli Grill catering service for a family wedding at Basera Banquets (near Pride Plaza, Kolkata) on 17th January 2019. We opted for Bijoli Grill keeping in mind the reputation over multiple cities but were let down severely. The happy occasion slowly transitioned into a harrowing experience of food poisoning. As of now, more than 30 people have fallen ill with severe vomiting and diarrhoea. The number is on the rise. My wife had to cancel her flight back and had to be injected with multiple bottles of saline and IV antibiotics. A family member has also fainted due to weakness. The bride herself is sick and is not able to get up. My entire family is sick including my father, mother, brother, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law and grandmother.

This has turned into a shameful situation for the family who had the best interest of guests at heart. No one desires to invite guests to a wedding and see them suffer after the occasion. This is disheartening and unacceptable. The bride’s family spent their life savings for the wedding to be left with a bitter memory that will haunt them forever.

When we spoke to officials of Bijoli Grill, instead of assuming responsibility for the situation they denied it completely and called it a lie. This is unacceptable from a reputed catering service. Not only a substandard service was provided but also they behaved terribly when they were told about the situation.

We would like the officials to respond asap and take responsibility for the situation. Otherwise, we will be obligated to take legal action against Bijoli Grill.

Friends, please suggest what else can be done on our end to ensure this doesn’t happen at other weddings too. Please share.
