Our Real Wedding

We owe our first meeting to the perseverance of our parents to find ‘perfect match’ and an algorithm written by some genius in the '90s, immensely improved over the years. After a week of texting, Amrinder took a 9-hour flight from London to Bombay to see me. It was cute, but honestly, his jet lag could have ended the game before it started. Since he made the effort to come all the way, I met him again and we shared our life stories at Marine Drive on a breezy night. While we kept meeting often in different corners of the world, we had our share of ups and downs until I got the best surprise. Given my love for Chocolate cake, Amrinder booked us a baking class in beautiful lavender fields in London. We baked and laughed, while a photographer (secretly planted by him as a student) captured all of it. By the end of our baking adventure, he was on his knees holding a three-tier cake with topper - 'Will you Marry me, Moon?’ thinking about that moment still gives me goosebumps

Our wedding was a perfect representation of us & it was reflected in the details throughout the 5 days of the ceremonies. We selected a pastel theme for our big day. I wore a pastel blue suit & I totally loved how Amrinder managed to perfectly coordinate with my outfit. The decor was inspired by the numerous Instagram and Pinterest screenshots I had curated over a long period of time. We had our wedding hashtag (#BaliLandsMoon - His last name is Bali & my nickname is Moon) at our welcome boards, photo booth, his shoes, my lehenga, his cufflinks & anywhere possible. The best part of the wedding for me was the venue - amidst the hills with a perfect view. Our wedding was captured live by a painter who beautifully portrayed all the details. The most special part was to be surrounded by our family & friends. We used the Joy app to design our wedding invites & it helped us coordinate our guests spread across 5 continents.
