Our Real Wedding

The Mehendi function is by far one of my most favourite function amongst all the wedding festivities. I love how broad daylight brings out the vibrancy of colours. For our function, we chose a slightly different decor theme titled “ vintage love” where we consciously steered away from the obvious mehndi colours and opened doors to more English tones with a pop of neon for colour.

We as a family have grown up having some of the finest breeds of dogs around and have valued their unconditional commitment to our lives. Our last dog, Lyra, was a beautiful female golden retriever and showered us with 11 years of unconditional love and loyalty.

She was a big part of my life and unfortunately, she couldn't walk down the aisle with me as she passed away in 2017. From that day, I knew that Lyra's memories will be a big part of my big day.

We wanted her to be a part of our celebrations so we joined hands with a few close friends running an NGO, Ravita Foundation. The NGO helps abandoned dogs find the right home. We set up a little corner at the function, where these distressed puppies were put up for adoption. While our aim was for our furry friends to get a home the beauty of the initiative was it left many with a smile on their faces.
