With over 20 years of experience singing at concerts, she has the rare distinction of having sung the maximum number of Kannada songs to her credit. Originally trained in Carnatic classical music, BR Chaya has performed as a playback singer for 300 films. She is the youngest singer to get ‘A’ grade in AIR and Doordarshan and has received numerous awards like “the best playback singer” from the Karnataka state government.
