The festive and bridal edit of FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week 2021, held from October 5 to 10, brought forth the magic of the most coveted designer labels. These designers exhibited their forte by displaying their sense & sensibilities through their own respective designs. What slew the show was the depiction of some trends that spoke about the designer’s vision.

Everyone had a new experience of a realm where fashion, lifestyle, and sustainability were strikingly predominant. Embrace Uniqueness with Print on Print Patterns

Fashion’s radar has always had eclectic prints swaying on the top, but what caught our attention this season was an array of designs complimenting different prints to put together one unique wedding wear/ethnic look. Coordinating the same-old colors with each other, or the monochromatic color pairing was set aside to pave the way for two unique prints romancing with each other. To bring life to this trend, the designer, Abhishek Gupta wrapped his designer lehengas with bold and beautiful colors like burgundy, teal green, Prussian blue, and black with rich gold embellishments.

The concept of a bold blouse design will never fade in this contemporary realm as we saw the concept of bralettes trending over the tops at the winter-festive 2021 edition of the fashion week. Be it, models, in Arpita Mehta’s - everyone sworn by bold blouses as a statement style concept. Jade by Monica & Karishma also exhibited her blouse designs boldly. The models were looking stunning in these bold designs. Even they gathered a bold momentum here.

Red Lehenga is still trending as we witnessed a great comeback on the runways this season. The ace designers presented myriad shades in the passionate shade of red during the runaway. We saw bright sindoor red to classy marsala on the runway. Designer Arpita Mehta showcased statement-making red lehengas for the bride vividly. Even the ‘Rumeli’ collection by JJ Valaya had the best reflection of red shades. Tarun Tahiliani in his ‘The Reunion’ extravaganza collection showcased how red can create a stir amid millennial brides despite its traditional connotations.

This season, floral prints slew the stage. We saw that florals can never dwindle from the runaways. Be it designer Geisha Singh’s collection, Mishru to Gaurang Shah’s Collection - we found the inclining love of designers and their brides towards the floral prints.

Other designers like Geisha Singh, Alpona Designs, and Nidhi Yasha also showcased the trending reign of statement sleeves amid the millennial brides. Through statement sleeves, the imagery created is mysterious, intriguing, and intense and thereby catching the attention.
