The ivory repertoire is embedded with golden elements like surface ornamentation revelling in sequin, beadwork and threadwork, along with ruffles and pleating with contrasting applique work as well as contrasting hems. Upholding the USP of the brand, we did see the use of crystal splashes in many pieces with laser cutting and quilting too. Did you notice the metrosexual appeal that his manarkalis depicted? Because we did! Catering to the 21st-century emotions and sentiments, his menswear silhouettes allow the handsome men in our lives to experiment with the different types of outfits apart from the usual kurta pyjamas.

The silhouettes essentially revel in the concept of volume, as the collection comprises gorgeous Anarkalis with 50 kalis for men and women; Lehengas with 40 panels; Sherwanis with gigantic skirts and ruffled dupattas created out of 60 metres of fabric - larger than life is just how we will define this exemplary collection.

This suave and stylish range of festive wear boasts structured cuts and OTT ruffles in ivory and gold and for the first time in the history of his designs do we see Siddartha Tytler using organic fabrics like cotton silk Chanderis, silk taffeta, silk organza, silk tissue and georgettes. This effortless fusion of quirky and classic is an inspirational collection that sustains the hallmark of a heady engagement with the finesse and excellent craft of a designer who continues to make waves with each new offering. The word Ambrosia means the Nectar of God in Greek mythology and it seeks inspiration from purity, colour and ethereal significance.

Speaking of the fashion film, Suneet Varma's The Elopement beautifully captures the charm of love. The soothing and fresh pastel colours that introduce the fashion film somehow remind me of the sweet and refreshing emotions associated with young love. The head veils and shy expressions of the models intensify this feeling further. The occasional moments in the film where the woman is lying back and looking at old polaroids and then the gradual shift to the intense red ensembles and silhouettes in mysterious browns depict the growth so elegantly. With dramatic elements used for detailing like ruffles sleeves and beaded tasselled sleeves - colours like mint, ice-blue, blush and yellow melted hearts. The designs manifested tone-on-tone embroidery, delicate glass beads, crystals and threadwork for a daytime function in ultra-feminine, soft, flowy silhouettes.

Catering to the women of today, the sheer sleeves, off-shoulder necklines, and deep scalloped backs make for a sensual yet modest young bridal look. The groom gets to flaunt the comfortable, pastel-coloured sherwanis with thread embroidery and modern hemlines to add to the look. The veteran Designer Suneet Varma says, "I understand the importance of finery and couture at an Indian wedding, and I also understand the needs of the modern young Bride and Groom- whether the wedding is a lavish one or an intimate elopement."

The wedding collection came in varied tones of Ruby, Sindhoor (vermillion) and Sienna Reds. The embroidery is more extravagant in gold zari threadwork with Silver Zardosi is also used to give it a modern twist. Suneet Varma stays true to his passion for creating modish embroidery techniques and blends ancient traditional art with a modern eye to create the shapes and silhouettes for each of his designs. Soft 16 kali skirts in silk Tanchoi with long trails, sheer, mysterious veils in tulle and silk georgette are some of the most favoured materials that he has used to create this sumptuous collection. It was indeed a mesmerising vision to watch the love unfurl on screen.

With this couture film, Gaurav Gupta strives to bring perception to the dialogue surrounding sexualities, gender fluidity, boundaries and identities because there is always a reason to keep celebrating love in all its forms, ages, sizes, shapes and colours. In fact, he says that his couture collection for this season is inspired by the Universe. The expanse of the cosmos, the millions of stars, the axis and the movement of all planets; sprinkling and spiralling in the infinite loops of time, meteoric showers and racing comets inspire abstract galactic embroideries and silhouettes. Each of these outfits exudes a sense of expanse and grandeur of the cosmos. All of this is done to endeavour perfect harmony and love.

Gaurav Gupta's Universal Love is a collection that is often seen as audaciously glittering and glamorously star-like. There was a Neptune-blue gown with embroidery strokes that look like flying comets and the endlessly cadenced structure and then there was a concept lehenga that is sculpted in a cosmic grey colour that is embellished with the sprinkles of shade glass in blue and gunmetal. Viewers must have also noticed the hybrid Indian gown in Asteroid pink hue with a large multi-layered skirt and a rainshower patterned embroidery that stole the show. There was a cosmic violet coloured gown that boasted fan-like structures that gave a sense of movement and rhythm for a futuristic princess. The gowns looked like molten materials that move with the movement of the bodies and it sure looked riveting.

The Gaurav Gupta Man collection that was also a part of this Universal Love line is another masterpiece created by Gaurav Gupta and these designs are even more intrepid and sensual. The stark black & white hues along with night teal and Neptune blue colours add more character to each silhouette. Lines run across jackets as if forming new constellations and the sharp metallic accents meticulously sculpted on velvet tuxedos and exaggerated flared trousers give flight to the ensembles.

To add to the larger than life celebrations, this film was shot at the Taj Falaknuma Palace which is also known as the Mirror of the Sky. This film is an enchanting concoction of a modern lifestyle and ancient heritage. The edgy designs looked all the more captivating with the architectural gem at the backdrop reflecting the passion it was built with, where each element exudes obsession with various universal cultures and elements.
