The new market situation made top wedding planners come together to add a brand-new dimension to the weddings. They congregated to celebrate a brand new beginning “It’s Possible” at Ambience Island - a concept curated by The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences, ADot by GNH Hotels, Ferns N Petals and Touchwood Group. The main aim was to make the wedding experience splendid for everyone. The wedding fraternity, media professionals and other topmost professionals from the industry were present in this grand wedding FAM event.

They unveiled the current situation of the wedding market with some interesting revelations on the pent-up demand for weddings. We were glad to hear that wedding professionals are starting to witness a growing demand for celebrations and events. The first session with the experts ended with a live performance to keep everyone engaged while singing and grooving to the tunes of some evergreen songs. She kept everyone enthused whilst the guests enjoyed the elaborate buffet at the venue, offering myriad of cuisines, flavours, desserts, enriching mocktails and rich cocktails.

Before the commencement of the second panel discussion at Riviera House by the experts, the marcom experts from the in-house team made us walk through the surreal-theme based wedding halls. There was a robust line of chandeliers that added grace to the ceiling, making the venue look like a dreamy escapade. The Riviera had a fixed banquet setting of 45,000 sq. ft. area with an exquisite décor. Further, the tour around The Ritz was mesmerising. It had stunning chandeliers and beautiful backdrops. Every corner of this venue oozed out luxury as the whole space was decked with breathtaking elements, flowers, exquisite and luxe installations. Then came the second round of panel discussion that ended up with a cocktail dinner amid the top wedding planners, vendors, hoteliers, media professionals and the other experts from the wedding fraternity.

Indian Wedding sector expects a revival in 2021 and thereby we asked Varun Chhibber on the future of the wedding industry after the pandemic and he said, “The wedding industry is gaining speed steadily, the pace is quite evident from the pent-up celebrations that are making way. Celebrations that have become sleeker and more sustainable are restoring themselves to their older format. Wedding planners are witnessing demand for events that were put on hold last year due to obvious restrictions. The pent-up demand is being received well by the industry and there is an optimistic sense of growth in the coming months. The gathering size for any celebration has definitely reduced however the opulence and planning for the big day hasn’t changed. Wedding planners and guests are evaluating options that create unprecedented value.“

We asked Varun Chhibber about how Technology can support us and on this he said, “There are specific applications which assist in building the event virtually wherein one can finalise the banquet layout, set up the stage location along with other elements. With the assistance of technology, it's easier to control the safety and security protocols with guests being easily scanned for temperature with thermal scanning and heat mapping devices. Moreover, digital room keys, cashless payments, virtual interactions with wedding planners etc are a few of the many examples where technology is aiding the wedding business.”
