Inside Princess Beatrice's Royal Intimate Wedding

HRH Princess Beatrice walked down the aisle to her love, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at Windsor Castle in a cosy & intimate ceremony in a July wedding. We are awe-inspired!

Remember 2018 when Meghan Markle walked down the aisle in a Givenchy gown with a 16-feet long veil as the world watched in awe? It was one royal fairytale that the world witnessed. 2020 has been another year when a royal fairytale came to life with the wedding of Princess Beatrice took her vows of a happily ever after with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi - the founder and chief executive of Banda. Edoardo is known to have royal Italian lineage.

Princess Beatrice is the eldest daughter of the UK's Prince Andrew and his wife Sarah - the Duchess of York. Princess Beatrice got married in a private ceremony on the 17th of July 2020 and it has come as a surprise to many given that royal weddings are almost like a national holiday in the UK. Princess Beatrice married her beau Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a traditional ceremony at the Windsor Castle in a small but dreamy wedding. There were not many photographs available until July 18 when the Buckingham Palace shared two breathtaking portraits of the couples captured by Benjamin Wheeler.

Princess Beatrice, 31, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (36) had originally planned to marry in May, but the coronavirus lockdown forced them to reschedule and have a low-key wedding ceremony instead.

Princess Eugenie then took to Instagram on Monday and shared some heart-melting photographs of Princess Beatrice's wedding. It was a low-key intimate wedding and was attended only by the family members - Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Phillip were some of the prominent names who attended the wedding as was also seen on Princess Eugenie's social media posts.

Here are all the details of their wedding as has been updated by the photographer - Benjamin Wheeler, the bride's younger sister Princess Eugenie and The Royal Family Official on Instagram. Read to know all the details.

The Royal Wedding Venue

The British monarch and her consort appeared in a portrait photograph shared by Buckingham Palace. This portrait has the Queen and the newlywed couple posing apart in front of the chapel showing the lengths that they have gone to abide by the government guidelines amidst the pandemic that has hit the world at large. They took their vows at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge at the Windsor Castle.

The venue was extra special for the bride because she and her sister Eugenie celebrated their Confirmation at this very chapel. They had however planned their initial wedding services at the Chapel Royal in the grounds of St James's Palace, London. It has a capacity of hosting 150 guests. They also planned to have their reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

The Royal Lodge boasts of a garden that was the perfect space for Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Morzzi to host their wedding reception while abiding by the norms of social distancing. The small party hosted 14 of the royal couple’s close friends. The Duke of York is a marquee just outside the Royal Lodge and this is where the reception took place. This majestic tent/canopy had a handful or more of sofas, a jukebox, draft beer and a dartboard.

The Heirloom Dress of Queen Elizabeth

Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell and The Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, both belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. The tiara was worn by Her Majesty on her wedding with Prince Phillip on 20th November in 1947. This tiara was made in the year 1919 for Queen Victoria for her wedding.

Steering away from the traditional wedding dresses that are picked by the royalty, Princess Beatrice followed the path of Eugenie, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton in choosing a custom-designed ivory gown for her wedding.

As per a statement issued by the Buckingham Palace, "The dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin, with organza sleeves. It is encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice. It was remodelled and fitted by Miss Angela Kelly and Mr Stewart Parvin."

This absolutely alluring dress that Princess Beatrice wore for her wedding was owned by the Queen and she was seen gracefully flaunting this piece on two occasion - in 1962 to the premiere of Lawrence of Arabia at the Odeon theatre in Leicester Square, and once in 1961 to a state dinner in Rome. It was clearly very important for the couple that the Queen be able to attend the wedding. Sources have it that the date was "planned around the Queen's schedule."

The delicate dress was given beautiful sleeves and a thick hem for the bride.

It is said that since the government of the UK does not allow the bride to walk down the aisle with their father given the large-scale spread of the pandemic, Prince Andrew, father of Princess Beatrice was isolating with his daughter for quite some time to be able to walk her down the aisle in a conventional ceremony.

With intimate weddings starting to become the norm even after the pandemic resigns from our lives, this royal intimate wedding is the ultimate silver lining that the world of weddings could use. There is no decided time to celebrate love and by walking down the aisle in a cosy intimate wedding witnessed just by her family members and closest friends, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took their vows.

This royal wedding is no doubt a dreamy affair that is an inspiration for so many people. These were the photos that we could source from the various reliable resources. We will keep this post updated when newer photos come in of their wedding for your inspiration.
