Pretty Like a Picture Wedding of Celebrity Stylist Sonakshi Raaj

Ace Celebrity Designer Sonaakshi Raaj’s wedding with Restaurateur Nikhil Merani was nothing less than a fairytale dream.

Sonaakshi has left no stone unturned to make the sartorial dreams of every Bollywood Diva come true with her stunning designs and styling skills. Her beau, on the other hand, spreads delectable cheers in his European-style café, salad bar and Asian eatery in Juhu. In a grand affair in Hua Hin, Thailand, the two dream makers tied the knot and marked the beginning of their ‘forever’. Here's how their grand wedding celebrations unrolled: 

A Dazzling Pre-Wedding Cocktail

The duo organised a lavish Pre-Wedding Cocktail party in Estella, Mumbai. Sonaakshi was a sight to behold in a deep red, off shoulder couture ball gown from her label. Encrusted with crystals, hand embroidered with stonework and intricate floral motifs; her bridal wear was drenched in all kinds of royalty. She paired the look with a dazzling diamond earring set from Renu Oberoi Luxury Jewellery. It was a star studded affair with the presence of Actors Raveena Tandon, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrat Bharucha, Director Sajid Khan, and the sensational Indian host and singer, Sophie Choudry. 

A Tropical Wedding Theme 

The #SuperSonic duo planned private wedding functions for their close family and friends in Thailand. Their nuptials were planned by Krayonz Entertainment and set against the breathtaking backdrop of Avani+Hua Hin Resorts and Villas. Drawing inspiration from the pristine seaside resort, Hua Hin, the impulse of their wedding theme was a dreamy tale of romance in a tropical land of floral delights. 

Keeping the same in mind, their wedding invitations were designed by Puneet Gupta invitations. The invitations were all polished in high gloss to represent a flowy and watery mood. The boxes were designed with ornate legs to strike the perfect balance of tropical royalty. A stunning feature of the invitation cards was the map of Thailand imprinted inside the invitation box, to breathe life to the destination. 

Striking elements of the tropical wedding like adorable dancing flamingos, captivating floral designs, colorful sprinkles of seahorses, star fishes and underwater corals together formed the unique mood of the wedding design. This floral rhapsody was brought to life by the bespoke wedding design company, Pavarit & Co. 

The Celebration Stories 

Dhol Function 

Mata ki chowki marked the onset of their wedding celebrations followed by a Dhol function. Make up Artist Shradha Luthra complimented the bride’s dreamy attire designed by her friend and celebrated designer, Mohsin Naveed Ranjha. 

Mehendi Ceremony

The bride picked a lehenga drenched in the shades of mint polychrome from a fruity palette, paired with an off shoulder tassel from her label for her mehendi ceremony. The groom chose the effervescent shade of light yellow from the colour palette to compliment his beautiful bride’s look. The duo walked in, hand in hand, spreading warmth and cheers. 

Sangeet Celebrations 

While Sonaakshi was a breath of fresh air in her mehendi ceremony, she transformed into a princess for her sangeet celebrations. She wore a rose-cut detailed lehenga from her label and set some major princess bride goals. 

The Wedding Celebration

Their wedding ceremony was a breathtaking story telling of powder pink roses. The bride wore a beautiful customised bridal wear lehenga drenched in the most adorable shade of light pink. Tailored in sheer fabrics, her embroidered bridal lehenga is every summer bride’s sartorial dream. Fitting in the theme of the wedding, the duo exchanged pink rose garlands, and tied the knot with the blessings of close friends and family.

The Reception

The celebrated designer waltzed into her reception wearing a Shantanu & Nikhil gold drenched lehenga.  Celebrity makeup artist and hairstylist ShaanMu, was the artist behind the bride’s ethereal hair and make up looks for her sangeet, wedding day and reception.
