The Pochampally is a Telugu saree from the town of Boodhan in Andhra Pradesh that plays with the Pochampally silk. Royal in nature, it is made in a village called Pochampally, 50 kilometres away from Hyderabad and is known for its tie-dyeing design called Ikat. These traditional sarees are hand woven by the local weavers and have a great demand in the market. With floral designs on the lovely fabric and tasteful colour combinations, most of these Pochampally sarees have gold work on their borders. These sarees are available in silk as well as cotton.

2. Dharmavaram Sarees

The Dharmavaram saree is a Telugu saree made at Dharmavaram at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. Known for its marvellous bridal sarees made out of gold zari work, the Dharmavaram sarees are made up of silk and have a heavy pallu with a zari border. Famous for its temples, Mangalgiri is also known for its pit-loom cotton sarees, which are found to be unique because of the work done with gold or copper threads on the borders. Along with a striped or checked body, the pallu of this Telugu saree is also striped with zari in bright and vibrant colours.

4. Gadwal Sarees

Made in a small town of Gadwal in the district of Mahbubnagar, the Gadwal sarees have gained enough popularity for its heavy zari work on the border and pallu of the Telugu saree. While the body of the saree is made of cotton, the zari work is silk, so they are weaved separately and later attached together. Famous for its bright colours, the weaving style used in this Telugu saree is Kapadam and should be bought in colours like red, maroon, pink, yellow or purple. 5. Venkatagiri Sarees

Known to be a small town in Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, Venkatagiri is responsible for the big job of creating gorgeous handloom sarees known as the Venkatagiri sarees. Available in both cotton and silk, the Jamdani technique is used to make these Telugu sarees. As they are light in weight, you will be happy to know that you can wear them all year long. With designs such as dots, parrots, and leaves, it also has golden motifs in a dull shade. You can wear these sarees at home, as well as outside. You can wear some normal jewels with these sarees when heading out to complete the look.
